Rotoscoping - Independent Task
As a part of exploring rotoscoping, I thought it would be quite fun to try and recreate the iPod Advert from 2008. The reference will be available to watch right at the bottom of this blog post. Although I did not specifically use a rotobrush or mask each frame, I did use a green screen and a keylight effect with curves which enabled a silhouetted visual aesthetic in response to the motion in the original video. I think this made things much quicker and easier however, it worked well only because it was a silhouette aesthetic that I wanted to use. If I wanted to use other effects like Venetian blinds or use textures, I would have had to mask and use keyframes.
