Further Exploration of Geometry - Independent Task
Based on the first workshop with Sara, I wanted to further develop my skills and knowledge in animating geometric shapes. I really liked the idea of morphing shapes and the way they interact with each other. I used a tutorial on YouTube to learn this animation which was where my source of inspiration came from. During my free time, I like to look at different animations on YouTube and how they are created as a way of expanding my knowledge and developing my skills. I really liked the look of this animation and the thumbnail drew my attention straight away. Using that as the inspiration, I wanted to try and create something similar but developed into typography too.
In order to create the typography morphing, I had to create two words and the ones I used were directly related to this animation. I then had to choose the longest word and create a set of ‘O”s which I could use as the ground for the animation. I then duplicated all my text layers and created shape outlines out of the duplicates. After that it was quite easy as all that was needed to be done was copying each letter path onto the path of two ‘O”s. It was all about the placement of the keyframes and once I had finished it, I added the easy ease effect to all of them. I also added a motion blur which would allow the transition from one word to another quite smoothly. In addition, I added a venetian blind effect to the end shape in the first sequence as a transition between the shapes and the typography for a smooth flow.
